The Italian company Modena Automobili has unveiled a unique project – a restomod of the Maserati Biturbo Shamal. This car combines vintage design and modern technology. Modern fans of Italian classics are sure to love it!

Дизайн и интерьер

The restomod Maserati Biturbo's interior is deliberately analogue, echoing the car's original design. The outlines of the Maserati Biturbo Shamal's dashboard with its horizontal air vents, the centre console with its array of physical buttons and the retro Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel all create a classic coupé atmosphere. However, the updated instrument panel with its digital display, Recaro Classic seats and detachable hand-wound chronometer add a modern touch to the car.

There's a huge range of colours and materials available for interior trim. However, Modena Automobili states that personalisation won't require any additional costs. This detail makes the restomod even more attractive to collectors.

Технические характеристики

Under the bonnet of the restomod is a 3.0-litre V6 from the Maserati Ghibli, producing 500 horsepower. This engine is paired with an eight-speed ZF gearbox. This combination gives the Maserati Biturbo Shamal excellent dynamics – acceleration to 100 km/h takes mere seconds. Although official figures on the car's top speed have not yet been revealed, it is expected to exceed 250 km/h.

Exclusive edition

Only 33 examples of the restomod are planned for production. Visually, the restomod replicates the 1990s Maserati Shamal, preserving the recognisable body lines and sporty style. However, the technical components are more in line with the mass-produced Maserati Biturbo models. This ensures a balance between retro charm and modern performance.

Price and premiere

Modena Automobili values its creations at €590,000, which is equivalent to £510,000. The first prototypes will be in Q1 of this year, with mass production starting towards the end. This price includes customisation of the vehicle, including the choice of materials, sound system (Bose, JBL or Alpine) and other details.

An Italian legend returns

Modena Automobili's project showcases how to preserve the spirit of a classic car while adding modern features. The combination of a 3.0-litre V6 from the Ghibli, an updated interior and exclusive design makes this restomod Maserati a unique offering on the market. For those who appreciate luxury, history and power, this car is a real find.

So, if you're aiming to get your hands on a Maserati Biturbo Shamal, get ready for the premiere of the first prototype!
